Simple, follow the instructions at this link: https://support.usa.canon.com/kb/index?page=content&id=ART176838. Simply attach your lens, put the camera in a manual mode (Such as M, P, Tv, or Av), go into the custom functions and enable “Shutter release without lens attached.” The instructions at Canon’s support website will guide you. I’ve been copying data off some old drives and onto my main storage array tonight. I came across a hard drive full of SD Card dumps from my photography days.
